I am very unhappy with my current trailer's bow stop assembly. The access to unhook the winch strap is impossible, and this requires a three-step process of backing the boat down with the strap attached so that access to unhook it is possible.
I am looking for suggestions and advice and if possible any pics of any existing assemblies on other trailers. My current setup makes it impossible to install a safety chain to either the winch hook or bow hook.
The pics are available here.

Re: Trailer Bow Stop Assembly
I would reverse the direction of the strap so it comes off the bottom of the spool, then raise the winch- hopefully the bow eye falls more toward the center of the bow stop in this arrangement, providing access to the towing eye.

I posted a suggestion "over there".

Re: Trailer Bow Stop Assembly
Leave the winch spool as it is. Raise the winch on its mounting post. This will put bow eye midway between the two bow stop rollers.
Re: Trailer Bow Stop Assembly
Ideally, I believe the bow eye should rest against the bottom of the bow stop. This should help keep the bow down when braking. Alternatively, a bow tiedown device can be used.
