I have a 1967 Mercury 350 35-HP outboard [engine and I] don't [know] how to get the starter out[.] [T]here[']s a [bracket.] [The] starter will not pull out[.] [N]o room[.] [W]hat do I have to remove to get starter[?] [D]o I have to pull crow off? [C]an anyone help[?]

I think you might find a better source for advice on how to make repairs to your 50-year-old outboard engine if you found a website whose primary interest was in the restoration of antique outboards. The primary interest of the CONTINUOUSWAVE website is in Boston Whaler boats, so we often have discussions about 50-year-old Boston Whaler boats, but I seriously doubt that there is a wide readership here who are acquainted with the details of disassembling the mechanical components of your 50-year-old outboard. Your own interests will be better served on an antique outboard engine website.

I've got a 1970 - 40 hp, and it's a similar setup. I pulled the powerhead, and I'm almost certain that's the only way it would come out. There were 2 bolts that attach to the top of the starter.
