c.1980 OUTRAGE Hull Construction

Looking at a potential project [boat, a c.1980 OUTRAGE CUDDY]. I'd like to gut to bare bones and build it back as a [center console] with bracket and half-tower. Please let me know your thoughts.

On an OUTRAGE CUDDY model, the forward cuddy superstructure is not part of the Unibond hull. It is molded separately, then adhered to and mechanically attached to the hull.

You will have much less work buying an OUTRAGE if you want a center console instead of buying an OUTRAGE CUDDY and tearing it apart. One major problem will be the use of wood as the hatch covers inside the cuddy. On an OUTRAGE the hatch covers were molded fiberglass. You'll end up with an odd-looking boat with wooden hatch covers in the forward part of the boat.

There are many more OUTRAGE center consoles out there than OUTRAGE CUDDY models.
