[Back story] The progress on restoration of my old classic Sport 15 is slowly going forward. This summer, I got quite a bit done on Lunar. I got the supporting port and starboard planks [seat risers] installed as well as the stern seating plank. I am rebuilding everything out of Teak. I will post pictures soon. I was going to buy a 1990 or 1991 GLS model fiberglass console, but I have had no success in locating one. I don't like the fiberglass ones from Carolina Skiff enough to purchase any of the ones they offer to the public.
How wide should I make the starboard side steering console? I am thinking of going directly midship or 1/2 the beam to the starboard supporting plank [seat riser].
Thank you in advance for all of your replies.--Paul

Re: SPORT 15 Starboard Console Width
I would not make the starboard side steering console in a SPORT 15 any wider than half the boat's beam, otherwise it will become an obstacle for moving from the bow to stern in the boat.
Re: SPORT 15 Starboard Console Width
I have a starboard console I purchased last year that I never installed.
If interested I am willing to sell it.

Re: SPORT 15 Starboard Console Width
My 15 footer was originally a side console Striper model, that I converted to a center console. I still have the original console. Its solid but needs a dash and some glass work. $175. Also have the windshield that is in poor shape due to the plastic crasing but can be used as a pattern for a new one.

You might want to check out Panga Marine in Florida, they make aftermarket center consoles that are much nicer than the ones Carolina Skiff makes and their prices are very reasonable IMO. Just google Panga Marine in Florida. They have several consoles to choose from.
