I own a 2007 240 Outrage with twin 150 VERADO FOURSTROKE engines. The engines are signaling “vent float switch high” alarm.
I have replaced both float switches, vent canisters and vent purge lines. Funny enough, the alarm has now jumped between engines. I also noticed that when I checked the fuel filter on the engine there was built-in pressure and fuel was flowing into fuel filter and overflowing. I had not seen this before. I suspect the pressure in the fuel system has something to do with the fuel tank. Being a 2007 model, this 240 OUTRAGE does not have Fuel Demand Valves; I think these came in later models.
This is doing my head in so any assistance would be gratefully received.
Kind regards--Andrew

Re: VERADO Fuel Pressure
Andrew - I don't know if this applies to your engines but there was a service bulletin or recall notice concerning some VERADO engines needing replacement of the fuel float. To check into this may be worth your time.

Re: VERADO Fuel Pressure
Hello Andrew--if you do not get any response here, I recommend you visit Glen Ersly's VERADO CLUB website. The VERADO CLUB website concentrates entirely on Mercury VERADO FOURSTROKE engines, and I am sure you can get an informed reply from someone there.
Re: VERADO Fuel Pressure
The Mercury Service Bulletin mentioned is 2008-10 and covers engines from 2006 and earlier. Ironically I was informed yesterday that the module on our 2008 135 HP Verado should be replaced.
