I am re-powering my 2005 305 Conquest. I want to remove the large one-piece panel that covers from the cabin door to the engine throttles. It has a caulk bead around the entire panel. I assume it has putty underneath to keep it from rattling.
Has anyone removed this panel?
{Give me] pointers.
Thanks.
Steve

Re: 305 Conquest Separating Helm Panel from Hull
I would expect that a major laminated part such as the helm panel shown above would be installed and bonded to the rest of the hull using strong adhesives. I doubt the panel will be easily removed due to the strength of the adhesives.
I recommend you contact Boston Whaler customer service to get their advice. I would be surprised if any 305 CONQUEST owners reading this thread have attempted to or succeeded in removing that panel.

Re: 305 Conquest Separating Helm Panel from Hull
Thanks for the replies. [The helm panel assembly of the 305 CONQUEST] is bonded to the hull with adhesives. I will continue to try to separate [the helm panel] from the hull. I have a week before [the 305 CONQUEST] goes to the shop for re-power.
I would like to have full access behind [the helm panel].
