Where can a parts list and pictorial diagrams for a c.1984 Quicksilver remote shift and throttle control be found?
The trim-tilt [electrical switch] that fits inside the shift handle needs to be replaced. Inside a plastic cover is the number 87468.
Now that I've taken the handle partially apart, I'm having trouble aligning the shift handle; any advice would be appreciated.

Re: 1984 Quicksilver Remote Control Parts List and Diagram
I have that same Mercury Quicksilver top-mounting remote shift and throttle control with the tilt-trim switch. I also have not had any luck finding a parts diagram for that unit. If my tilt trim switch ever needs to be replaced I would consider adding a dash panel mounted tilt trim switch.
Does the switch have any identifying part numbers on it?

Have you contacted a Mercury dealer's parts department and asked them?
I would start there.

Re: Quicksilver Remote Control Parts List and Diagram
Mercury is generally not very good about providing service manual literature on-line for free download, so I would not expect to be able to get an exploded view pictorial diagram or complete parts list.
I recommend you contact a local Mercury dealer who has been in business with Mercury for about 50-years. A dealer who was selling Mercury in c.1984 might have the replacement part you need for the Quicksilver control sitting on a dusty shelf. A switch used 38-years ago may no longer be in the current replacement part inventory in 2022.

Try Sea-Way Marine in the Seattle area (425-412-4006). Great vendor for new old stock outboard parts. They've been around since the late 1950's.
Re: 1984 Quicksilver Remote Control Parts List and Diagram
I appreciate the help. I will try contacting a Mercury dealer.
Ironically, I just moved the boat from the Seattle area (where Sea-Way Marine is located) to my retirement place in Florida. Sea-Way Marine helped me many years ago as a student with my 1972 Mercury 7.5-HP engine.
Who is an old-time Mercury dealer in Florida, and especially in the Tampa area?

I found a part number: 88688A14.
I found exploded diagrams and parts are available from Crowleys and others.

Perhaps to make your newly found information about internet resources more useful, you can give a URL to the exploded view diagram and parts lists that you found that have been the topic of this discussion.

Several other venders besides Crowleys are available for that console control too.
