Source for OEM Railing “bracket”

Q1: where can a rectangular. threaded, through-gunwale bracket (that goes outside [possibly means outboard] of the gunwale and the screw fasteners thread from the inside [possibly means inboard side] of the gunwale) for the bow railing on a 1989 Montauk [17] be purchased?

In your use of the tern “bracket” do you mean the mounting base for a vertical stanchion that is part of the bow railing that sits on the gunwale and is retained to the hull with screw fasteners and retains the stanchion with a set screw or rivet?

When you use the directional term “inside” did you mean inboard?

When you use the directional term outside did you mean outboard?

I'm talking about the rectangular plates that are threaded and are placed on the outside gunwale of the hull. The screws for the bow rail bracket go through the bracket, through the hull and thread into this rectangular plate. the bow rail bracket and this rectangular plate effectively are squeezing the gunwale.

The technical term for the hardware you are refering to is "backing plate".
