My Plans for a New Interior for a 15-footer; Where to buy L-shaped Brackets

Postby K wester » Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:06 am

I plan to replace the wood interior of my 1984 15-foot hull. [Moderator's note, when referring to a particular boat, please give the model designation.]

I saw another 15-footer with a side console.

I do not care for the short raised back rest.

[I plan to use] KING StarBoard [to fabricate a] double main bench with a raised back rest, as I have seen in some photographs of interiors made with wood.

Q1: where can L-shaped stainless steel brackets that raise up the back rest be purchased?

Be aware that KING StarBoard marine plastic lacks strength and may not be the best material to use for thwart seats. It will bend under load. Some form of added reinforcement will be needed.
