Recently, while falling into the YouTube wormhole, I came across a series of well done videos from Jamestown Distributors. In this series of videos, they fabricated up a carbon fiber hard top, to replace a worn canvas top. Pretty well done:

Thanks for posting the links to this very interesting construction project. I watched all three parts. The essential concept I learned from this: don't try this at home.
