For sale : a 1977 Boston Whaler Sport 15 with 1988 Yamaha 70-HO engine for $3,900.
The interior of the boat had some spider cracks and has been painted with Pettit EasyPoxy High Gloss topside marine paint.
The bottom has never been painted but the keel had some scratches that have been repaired with a two-part epoxy that does not match the off-white original gelcoat.
The custom seating is comfortable but not original equipment (a forward bench with 3 additional seats is also included).
The 70 hp Yamaha 2-stroke engine runs perfectly—it has never left me stranded. It has tilt trim and a stainless steel propeller. The shaft length is 20-inches.
The tachometer has some condensation and is difficult to read.
Top speed is approximately 45-MPH at 5500 RPM.
The navigation lights need to be replaced.
$3900 gets you the unsinkable legend and this engine, a VHF radio, and two 6-gallon fuel tanks.
Also for sale is a galvanized trailer which fits the boat well, bearings recently replaced, not all lights work, and one of the keel rollers has a deep crack in the rubber: $400.
A stainless steel bow rail is available for $250.
A stainless steel Bimini top is for sale for $250 (I paid $1,000 for the Bimini when it was new).
Or you can have everything listed above for $4,500.

Re: 1977 Boston Whaler 15' Sport with 70 hp Yamaha
Is the "dock" picture of the boat what it looks like now and the other pictures of the boat with all the options you priced separate?
Confusing ad. How many hours?
Is engine original?

Re: 1977 Boston Whaler 15' Sport with 70 hp Yamaha
Sorry for the confusion I may have caused. Maybe this explanation will help.
Several years ago I purchased the 15' Whaler with a Nissan 70 HP engine and no trailer for $4400. I then got rid of that engine and put on a used 1988 Yamaha 70. I have no idea how many hours it has run in its lifetime. It runs real nice and if anything it needs to be used more, not less. I purchased a second hand trailer for the boat for $750 and the bow rail for about $250. I purchased the Bimini for $1000.
I am selling the boat as I bought it (except with a Yamaha engine instead of the Nissan) for the great price of $3900.
I have spent an additional $2000 on the trailer, bow rail and Bimini. They do not add much value to the boat as a package but have value if sold separately. I am willing to sell them separately, priced as follows:
Trailer: $400.
Bow rail: $250.
Bimini: $250.
Or I will sell everything for $4500.
Does that make sense?

I'm a mahogany guy for Whaler interiors, but I will say those seats look very comfortable. A Yamaha 70 is an ideal motor for the 15-footerr based on minimal weight and longevity.

So the boat does not come as the pictures show as there is no second 3 seat bench, or bench at all and there is no bow rail or bimini as they need to be bought separately like the trailer.
I'm starting to understand that the pictures shown are as the boat used to look like and not what is for sale.

Re: 1977 Boston Whaler 15' Sport with 70 hp Yamaha
I saw David's boat a few times several years ago, including on some CW Waccamaw River trips. He's given a very honest assessment of the hull condition and you can trust his description. This boat is not going to win first place for a pristine hull. However, it's the best setup 15' Sport I've seen in terms of comfortable seating and overall usability. I was amazed to see how he was able to pack in so many family and friends on a small boat.
Dutchman, the first post states "a forward bench with 3 additional seats is also included." The bimini, bow rail, and trailer are available separately or buy the whole package. I like the various photos as they show what the boat looks like with and without the bow rail and bimini installed, so a buyer can decide whether they are desirable.

I added captions and identifications to the photos in an effort to clarify what is for sale and to permit the images to be easily identified in the event there are questions about them.
Please note it is not necessary to show multiple photographs of the boat underway with different people aboard. CONTINUOUSWAVE is pleased to help you sell your Boston Whaler boat without any cost for the listing and the publicity, but if you think twenty image of the boat are needed to convey the features of the boat, please host those images elsewhere.
