Where can the 8 x 9-inch teak cover for aft cockpit sump on a 1986 Montauk 17 boat be purchased?
Thanks

And to minimize the need for another one, coat it with a couple of coats of epoxy (without any additives, just straight), especially along the edges and the lift hole. Then a few coats of varnish. It will last much longer.

Cut a piece of starboard.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).

Use the old cover as a pattern to cut a new one from mahogany veneer plywood. Coat with epoxy then varnish.
Install a short bungee cord to retain the cover in place using a pad eye on the underside and a pad eye on the boat cockpit bottom in the sump.

I've used a piece cut out of a WalMart cutting board. Looked and worked great.

Good idea. The term “KING Starboard” means expensive Walmart cutting board.

I've found that I need to remove the bilge cover to access my plug, so I used a scotch plastic (Velcro like) material that uses little balls and sockets to secure it and it's still easy to remove.
