1977 OUTRAGE 19 Information
Hello, I'm the new guy. I just purchased my first Whaler, 1977 Outrage 19. She is sound just not beautiful, what I need is information. I do not know is original to my boat, what should be or not be. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, looking forward to the Journey.

Hello--Information is a big topic, so if you can ask something more specific than just to have information, you may be able to get a helpful response. As a response to a request for information, I can suggest searching here. Information is contained here in the REFERENCE section, in the archives of the older forum, and in the new forum.
As for exactly what was the original equipment provided by Boston Whaler with the boat, that depends on the original purchaser and what options were ordered. In 1977 Boston Whaler did not deliver boats with engines, so the dealer would add the engine. The dealer would rig a trailer. The dealer would install most accessories.
Is there something more specific you are interested in knowing if it was original equipment?

I would go into the archive, do a search on "outrage 19" and read a few thousand of the threads. Great reading.

How's it going for you so far? I have 1977 19 outrage, #1313, that I completely renovated. My advise would be to prioritize the fuel tank/lines, thru hulls(no plastic replacements), and the transom if foam was dug out for the engine mounting bolts. If you have any holes in the deck, keel damage, or if she sits low on her lines you may want to consider a couple holes in the bottom to drain any water. A little water in the foam is okay but water does no compress amd causes spider cracks and down the closed cell foam. Put a keel gaurd on. Fill and re drill any removed screws, drill in reverse and sand the hole edges, West Systems, fast cure 5200, and gorilla glue are your friends. Youtube and message boards usually have good instructions.
It is a great hull that is the definition of "they don't make them like they used to." Its ONLY con is into a swell but it flies down swell, surfs well, and is super stable at rest.
