Update on 2008 SONAR Installation and New Plans

I am about to replace the through-hull SONAR transducer on my 1998 OUTRAGE 23 that I installed in 2008, 16-years ago. The new SONAR transducer will fit almost flush to the hull bottom and will be a CHIRP model with a power rating of 1000K [probably means 1,000 Watt]. It should fit the existing hole.

I will use "5200 goop" to loosen the mounting of the current transducer.

BACKSTORY
In 2008 I wrote an article about my plan to drill a 3.75-inch-diameter hole in the putty box on my 1998 OUTRAGE 23 after the ten-year hull warranty expired in order to install a FURUNO bronze SONAR transducer with a 20-degree tilt angle that would mount flush to the hull bottom (and thus not interfere with the boat being loaded on a trailer). The FURUNO through-hull SONAR transducer was part of a NavNet system on my boat that worked "great."

FUTURE PLANS
I will be replacing the current FURUNO SONAR with a new FURUNO 12-inch touch-screen System-3 model.

I will add a FURUNO satalite up top for a new FURUNO autopilot.

I have a RADAR on order that uses Doppler.

SECOND SONAR
I also have a transom mounted SONAR transducer that works with a GARMIN SONAR that has as 12-inch display.

ADVICE
Use a through-hull SONAR transducer if you want to read the bottom at speed.

I am uncertain what you mean by a "satalite." If you meant "satellite", I still am not clear. A satellite is usually in orbit around the earth. I am guessing perhaps you meant "satalite" to refer to a receiver to receive signals from global navigation satellite systems such as the U.S. Space Force's GPS or the European Union's GALILEO.

Perhaps you can clarify your intention.
