2001 CONQUEST 26: Source for OEM Windshield Gaskets

The windshield on my 2001 CONQUEST 26 had a leak between the glass and the frame. The water pools and then leaks into the cabin.

Q1: what is the part number for a TaylorMade windshield gasket that fits a 2001 CONQUEST 26?

Q2: will the gaskets used on [an unspecified model year] 285 CONQUEST be the same as the gaskets used on a 20O1 CONQUEST 26?

Q3: how is a leak between the windshield glass and frame repaired?

Q4: is my assumption correct (that to repair a leak between the glass and frame you pull out the glazing sea [unclear, perhaps means “seal”] and replace [something unspecified, probably a new OEM seal]?

Q5: if my assumption is correct, what is the procedure [to pull out the “seal” and install a new OEM replacement seal]?

I pulled off the screw cover rubber to access the model number and date, but it was not readable.

If you are certain the leak is between the glass and frame a properly caulked replacement gasket should stop the leak. If the leak is between the frame and the cabin top recaulking between the frame and the fiberglass may stop the leak. Recaulking the gasket should also be considered.

Q6: have you contacted TaylorMade to check for a replacement gasket?

It's likely that they used gasket material in your windshield with the same profile they use in their other windshields. I've found that a telephone call to a manufacturer is often more effective than an email.

I have reached out to [TaylorMade] via email and phone. They [were unable to identify their particular replacement part] because I did not know the TaylorMade part number. I have the Boston Whaler part number, but that does not transfer to a TaylorMade part number.

Q7: [does the phrase] “properly caulked replacement gasket" mean removing the glass from the frame, [using] caulk and new gaskets [in some unspecified manner]?

I plan to replace the frame-to-boat deck gasket and caulk the holes. I also plan to replace the screw cover gasket. I am hoping this will go a long way to drying the cabin.

has an extensive list of windshield and glazing parts showing their shapes in a profile view. There are only a few dozen choices, and that could make finding your pieces easier. If what you need is a current part it should be shown.

If that is not useful, try a search for a Boston Whaler cross reference part number site and use the BW part number there.

Another, perhaps more useful option: enter the Boston Whaler part number as the search term on a search engine.

That a vendor in 2025 who once sold their product to a customer in 2001 does not have someone answering telephone calls or email that has the ability to translate the customer’s 24-year-old part number into the supplier’s current part number is not really very surprising. That both the vendor and the customer are still in business after a 24-year lapse and still answering the telephone is actually quite impressive.

TaylorMade gave you more help than you would have gotten from Boston Whaler, as their present day policy is to deflect all inquiries about any boat not currently in production to on-line resources like this forum.

ASIDE: my 1990 Boston Whaler windshield is also a TaylorMade product, and its 35-year-old vinyl seals have shrunk in length, causing a few annoying leaks in heavy rainfall.

It's unlikely Taylor Made manufactured the gaskets used for your windshield. If you can determine the profile and dimension of the material it's very possible you can find a match from larger vendors such as McMaster-Carr or any similar vendor. At this point it is certainly worth a try. If you find a vendor please let us know. I'm sure jimh is not the only owner who may want to replace windshield gaskets.
