Fair Winds Mackey

Postby Phil T » Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:53 pm

I am sad to report that Dave Mackey (DtMackey) passed away on Friday. A wrong way driver crashed into the car he was riding in.

Mackey was a member of this group and other whaler groups for many many years with hundreds of contributions on a multitude of subjects.

For those of us who have been here awhile, remember these?

Such sad news is difficult to comprehend. How such a wonderful person could be taken so abruptly seems completely unfair.

Although I never met him, it was apparent from his postings that he was a smart, innovative gentleman. My hydraulic jack plate installation came directly from a post of his, and I always looked forward to his online contributions.

He will be missed.
