2002 275 CONQUEST Location of Putty Box

Postby naibda » Wed Mar 18, 2026 8:20 pm

Q1: [where] is the putty box on [a 2002 275 CONQUEST]?

BACKSTORY
I want [to install an through-hull SONAR transducer]. If [I cannot locate the putty box] I will have to get a 1-kiloWatt transom mount [SONAR transducer].

[Moderator's note: putty-box is the term Boston Whaler uses to describe a small area in the molding and foam filling of a Unibond hull where the foam is kept out of the area and replaced with a putty-like material for the purpose of creating a hull cross-section through which a large-diameter hole can be made to permit installation of a through-hull SONAR transducer without exposing the foam interior of the hull to water.]

You can find the location of a putty box on a 2002 275 CONQUEST from the Boston Whaler documentation. Typically the owner's manual would have information about where to install a SONAR transducer. Check the Boston Whaler website for more information.

For advice on how to find drawings and documents on the Boston Whaler website, see this article

You may also be able to get advice about the location of a putty box on a 2002 275 CONQUEST from your local Boston Whaler dealer.

Getting help from the Boston Whaler factory support may be iffy. Boston Whaler seems to have abandoned providing customer support for hulls that are more than about ten years old.
