I have an old 13-foot Boston Whaler boat that has a maximum capacity sticker of 6 persons or 900-lbs. It came on the boat and I never really thought about it. Recently I was thinking of buying a new 130 sport. When I looked at the sticker it stated 4 persons and 474-lbs. They also had a 2005 boat with 5 persons and 680-lbs.
Is there a newer 130-style boat with a similar capacity to my 1960's 13?
What is the reason for reduction in capacity? They all seem to have a swamped capacity of 1600 pounds.
Is there a database somewhere where you can see the capacity by year? I looked on the web and here and could not find much to help me sort it out.

Right I saw those specifications but those only cover the classic whaler i.e. before 2000. My question related both to why the post 2000 boats seem to have a decreasing weight limit and why that is the case. The newest 130 has only 474 pounds max and 3 persons!
