2001 22' Dauntless trailer height

Postby GClark19 » Mon Jun 27, 2016 8:33 pm

Will a 22' Dauntless with T-Top and tandem axle trailer fit in a 10' high overhead door?

I am considering buying a 22' Dauntless that has no trailer. [The seller] has never had it on a trailer. I currently own a 18' Outrage on a single axle trailer. It has a soft Bimini and when up will not clear the door. Any input is greatly appreciated. Would hate to buy the boat and leave it sitting on a trailer outside when I have a nice shop to park in inside when not in use.

Measure the height of the 22 DAUNTLESS from the chine line amidship to the top of the hardtop and any protrusions.

Add two inches to allow for clearance of the hull chine to rest above a trailer fender.

Measure the height of the trailer fender for the trailer you plan to purchase.

Add these three measurements together. If they total less than the height of the overhead clearance at your garage, you can likely bring the boat on a trailer into the garage.

To conserve vertical height, find a tandem axle trailer with 13-inch wheels.
