In the 1997 Boston Whaler catalogue there is no listing for a CONQUEST 21 model.
In the 1998 Boston Whaler catalogue there is a listing for a CONQUEST 21 model. The specification "WEIGHT" is 2,400-lbs.
The base boat does not have a hard top. In the listing of "Notable Options/Accessories" a hard top is listed, but there is no mention of the amount of weight added to the hull.
It is quite possible that a particular hull could have been manufactured in 1997, but sold as a 1998 model. The model year changeover was often in mid-summer.

There was a known error in the Whaler catalog for this model, which I happen to own. True weight is closer to 3,500-lbs. This is exclusive of the engine, which would add approximately another 500-lbs.

A variance of 1,100-lbs (3,500 versus 2,400) in the weight of a c.1998 CONQUEST 21 in the catalogue listing of specifications is quite a large error.
