1985 MONTAUK 17: Source for plastic cover for wiring

Q1: where can I find a replacement for a black plastic 2-inch by 4-inch housing on my 1985 Montauk 17 that covered wiring for the navigation lamp and had a rubber grommet at the bottom?

BACKSTORY
I recently had to remove that cover, held on with 4 screws, to work on the wiring. It seems it was glued as well as screwed in place, and broke in half when I tried to pry it off.

I encountered a similar problem on my 1981 Montauk 17. I fabricated a replacement by modifying a generic waterproof junction box.

I drilled a hole in the back of the box (the side facing the hull) for the navigation light wiring to pass through. Another hole was drilled in the bottom of the box (facing down towards the deck), and a Blue Sea brand cable gland was was installed to provide a weatherproof seal for the wiring. The wiring connections were made inside the box using a small terminal block and appropriately sized ring terminals.

I've had the junction box installed on my boat for about four years. It's proven to be a very effective solution and keeps the wiring connections completely dry and out of the elements. If you do order a junction box from Amazon, I'd recommend replacing the supplied "stainless steel" screws with better hardware. The screws that were supplied with the box I ordered were completely rusted after one season on the water.

Using a tan or beige color for the plastic enclosure would be a big improvement over using a black box.

In the installation shown in Figure 1, the cable for the white all-round pole lamp seems to be permanently connected via the junction box. This appears to prevents the pole lamp from being removed from its mounting.
