Finally started the 1989 17-foot Boston Whaler restoration project,
Hull stripped and flipped
Console stripped, filled and now new instruments and dash (yet to be powder coated).
Lots of filling and sandy before primer but it is finally coming along.
Sourcing and acquiring parts so far, but still looking for teak for small and big console doors and a supplier for side, front and console railings.

Re: 1989 17-footer Project Finally Started
I don't think I've seen the running surface of a 17-foot hull from this perspective before:
This view shows some angles on the hull that are quite interesting.

Restoring the chines has been some work. During the hull sanding, it became very obvious that this classic had seen some rough docking and beaching. The chines have taken some serious time to make almost perfect, and I have yet to have them where they need to be. The distinctive chine lines of this hull need to be retained. Once it is painted, I don't want to see wandering hull chine lines.

Looking good. Good luck on the project. I am progressing on mine (in another thread) and am just sanding away. --Scott

I am in the thick of sanding also, had that slight mental attack in my commitment,, a familiar feeling on any project, "have I gotten in too deep". That feeling has passed but I am definitely gonna need more epoxy and cloth. I'm finding more holes that were terribly patched over the years. I decided to really aggressively go at these spots, more cloth and hopefully a much better overall fix. I plan on keeping this boat as my garage "honey I'm in the garage working on the boat" life long diversion.
