Give me advice on how to break the bond between a cut out section of the main deck of a [1976 SPORT 11] and the foam interior of the Unibond hull.
BACKSTORY
I am in the process of cutting out the deck on my [1976 SPORT 11]. Have cut the main deck all the way around. I am trying to lift off the cutout part of the main deck, but it appears to be still very well bonded to the foam. I tried using a fishing line as a saw [to break the bond between the cutout part of the main deck and the foam of the Unibond hull, but I had] no luck.
ASIDE
I could not find [advice about how to break the bond between a cut out section of the main deck of a [1976 SPORT 11] and the Unibond hull].
Also, I know there many threads on the general topic of wet foam.
1976 SPORT 11 Breaking Bond Between Deck and Foam
Re: 1976 SPORT 11 Breaking Bond Between Deck and Foam
I think what is happening here: the Unibond hull of your Boston Whaler boat is trying to tell you to stop cutting it apart.
ASIDE on 1976 SPORT 11
ASIDE: a long discussion between me and the originator of this thread regarding his initial description of his c.1970 11-footer as a SUPER SPORT model has been deleted. The originator ultimately realized that his boat was a SPORT 11 model, as the SUPER SPORT 11 did not appear until c.1984. The thread has been edited to removed mentions of the boat under discussion as being a SUPER SPORT 11 and the boat is now identified as a 1976 SPORT 11.
