OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY Conversion to OUTRAGE 25

During COVID [c.2020] I came across an attractive deal for a OUTAGE 25 CUDDY boat. I removed the Cuddy. I fashioned new laminated doors. I have enjoyed the boat quite a bit.

The [forward cockpit] deck step that remained made for a convenient storage area.

With the boat’s “innocence” now out of the way, I am taking advantage of a planned fuel tank replacement by re-imagining the boat with the following changes.
  • [the engine remote controls will be electronic];
  • an engine bracket will be added;
  • the batteries will move back to the stern from the console;
  • a secondary power distribution bus will be added to the console; and,
  • I may modify the aft splash well by creating a waist-high live well.

Any other suggestions--other than "just buy the boat you wanted--will be welcome.

ASIDE. I hope my remarks might help someone [thinking about converting an OUTRAGE CUDDY into just an OUTRAGE].

[Moderator's note: the images seen above have been modified by being rotated so that the camera is being held either vertically or horizontally. In the initial images the camera was being held at "a Dutch angle." Also, this new topic was separated from a previous thread on the possibilities involved in conversion to OUTRAGE from OUTRAGE CUDDY. ]

Q1: is the door [seen in Figure 1 above] made from KING StarBoard?

Also, I would like to see how the boat looked right after the cuddy was removed.

A better view of the engine splash well and cockpit live well on an intact OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY is shown below:

ImageFig. 4. The stern engine splash well and cockpit live well of an intact OUTRAGE 25 Cuddy. (Originally from the Reference article on the 25-foot hull.

I am not clear on your intentions to change the "aft splash well" into a live well. There already is a live well in the aft cockpit area. My inference about an "aft splash well" is to refer to the full-width engine splash well, as seen above.

Overall from the limited views that I can see of the boat, I give this modification to an OUTRAGE 25 from an OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY high marks. However, I can't see any details of how vestiges of the removed cuddy cabin (such as screw fastener holes or adhesive putty) were handled.

On the foredeck of an original OUTRAGE 25 there would have been several hatch openings. These covers were removed in the CUDDY model, and apparently new hatch covers have been created in this conversion. To know more details about the construction of the new foredeck hatch covers would be very useful information, particularly for anyone thinking about performing the same changes to an OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY.

The console appears to be the SUPER CONSOLE option. Please confirm or contradict.

Q2: was the T-Top already on the OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY?

Q3: was the leaning post already on the OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY?

Q4: in your plan to add a "bracket" for the engines on the notched transom, do you plan to then eliminate the notched transom and create a full-transom stern?

To see photographs of the boat just after cuddy removal and more information on the hatch covers you made would be nice.
