Great trip! 390 nautical miles round trip. Rain at the start, sunshine (of sorts for the last 4 days). Seven days:
1. Swanson Harbor - RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, but no wind! 62 miles, BBQ steaks in the rain!
2. Deep Bay, Peril Strait, nice quiet anchorage before Sergius Narrows. 81 nmi, calm seas and wind.
3&4. Sitka, July 3 & 4. Made it in time for the fireworks. 31 nmi Great fireworks, made your insides vibrate we were so close (400 yards away)
And who was in Sitka? My old 1990 Revenge 22 - W.T. Looking very clean and cared for!
5. Tenakee Springs, hard time getting there. Heavy fog leaving Sitka - 200 yard visibility. Before entering Olga Strait blew the alternator belt which wiped out the water pump v-belt. Cabin filled with steam, engine boiling over. But had repair parts. Replaced belts, added 8 GALLONS of water and anti-freeze to the 15 gallon cooling system, back underway in 40 minutes. Made slack water in Sergius Narrows. Made it to peaceful Tenakee for the night. 90 nmi.
6. Funter Bay, peaceful remote dock. Nice day of sailing. Refueled in Hoonah. 76 nmi.
7. Home to Juneau. Good sailing!. 50 nmi

Re: Juneau to Sitka Alaska for the 4th of July
Cruising at midsummer at the latitude of Alaska must mean almost all daylight all the time. We love midsummer in latitude 45-North for the long days and late sunsets. In latitude 57-North, it must be even more fun.
Re: Juneau to Sitka Alaska for the 4th of July
With sunrise at 0400 and sunset at 2200 there is plenty of daylight and twilight at 58-30N. You have to watch the clock to figure it's time to go to bed.

Who was in Sitka?
I think I still haven't found what I really want. Right now I want to learn how to gamble to double book-of-ra-play-com. slots. What about you? What are you up to?
