2020 Montauk 210

We have owned a 2004 Montauk 170 for the last 16 years and it has been a great boat and served us well angling for bass, puppy drum, flounder, and for cruising in local waters. As a couple we average 60-years-old and have become less willing to ride out the South-by
-Southwest winds coming up the the Pamlico Sound unabated at 15 to 20-MPH wind speed most afternoons, for over 100-miles into the North River where it kicks up a nasty chop, usually in the two to three foot range: "We're gonna need a bigger boat".

We need a boat that will handle the described conditions, out run a thunder storm, and on the really nice days let us wonder around the ocean off Oregon Inlet and the OBX fishing for cobia, false albacore, spanish and red drum. I think the new version of the 210 Montauk with a 200-HP Mercury fits the bill.

I am hoping that owners of the updated 210 Montauk (150 or 200hp) will chime in with their experiences to help us make an informed decision.

Look at Whaler website, the 150 would be my option due to performance. You might want to get a deeper V with a Dauntless or Outrage but just my opinion.
