Source for Railing Section MONTAUK 17

Postby CantStopWater » Fri Dec 19, 2025 4:09 pm

I am trying to help my grandfather find a replacement railing section for his 2010 Montauk 17 [possibly means 170 MONTAUK].

The official designation is:

RAIL, SIDE BW170MT—02 AFT

Part Number 1689429

He has called the manufacturer and they told him they don’t sell to owners, only dealers, and we have tried a few dealers and they are only interested in selling him a new Whaler haha.

I would appreciate any information on where to find a replacement part, or if someone somehow has a spare I’d love to buy one.

Contact your local dealer's parts department.

On the east coast, Nauset Marine are the best.
parts@nausetmarine.com

In the midwest, The Boat House is superior.

If the current model does not use that part, it will not be available.

If the railing is damaged it may be repairable if a replacement is unavailable. The railing on my previously owned 190 Montauk was a simple bent stainless steel tubing section welded to flanges for gunwale mounting. A replacement could be fairly easily fabricated by a local business.
