1989 Outrage 25: Shaft Length for Twin Engines

Postby baynplay » Tue Jan 09, 2024 11:03 am

My 1989 OUTRAGE 25 with notched transom now has a single engine. I would like to re-power with a pair of almost-new E-TEC 150 H.O. engine.

Q1: is a 20-inch or long-shaft engine the correct choice for twin engines on an OUTRAGE 25 with a notched transom?

Twin engine installation on a 1989 Outrage 25 [with notched transom] require 20-inch or Long shaft models.

You can find more information about the specifications for the 1989 OUTRAGE 25 boat in the REFERENCE section article

1981 Outrage 24
1982 to 1993 Outrage 25

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/25Outrage/

The recommended engine shaft length is given in that article, along with much more information that you may find useful.

While this forum is an interactive part of the website, the REFERENCE section contains a many long articles that have been carefully researched and are loaded with information about Boston Whaler boats made prior to c.2000. Browsing the index listing of the REFERENCE section will give you access to much more information about older Boston Whaler boats.
