I own a 1989 Outrage 18 that I’m restoring.
Q1: how and where can I find the original drawings for the 1989 OUTRAGE 18?
[Moderator's note: this post has been moved from another thread which explained how to find Boston Whaler drawings for boats built in 1993 or newer.]
Boston Whaler Diagrams and Drawings for 1989 OUTRAGE 18
Re: Boston Whaler Diagrams and Drawings for 1989 OUTRAGE 18
As clearly indicated in the first article in the thread to which this post was originally made, the resources at Boston Whaler's website do not go back as far as 1989.PYD wrote:Q1: how and where can I find the original drawings for the 1989 OUTRAGE 18?
Information about the OUTRAGE 18 model is available on continuousWave.com in the WHALER section in the REFERENCE section. See
https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/18Outrage/
About the only drawing available is a sketch that shows the location of embedded reinforcements in the hull. A link to the diagram is provide in the above linked reference article. Read under the subhead "Hull". There is also a link to a diagram from the OEM fabricator of the fuel tank, and a third sheet from Boston Whaler with instructions and sketches on how to remove the existing fuel tank.
As much as possible, all the drawings that are available on continuousWave for all Boston Whaler boats are listed in an article in the REFERENCE section at
https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/drawings.html
You will find the three drawings mentioned above also appear on that list. Note that the OUTRAGE 18 was also called the OUTRAGE 19 in certain model years.
At one time in the history of the internet there may have been drawings hosted on other websites, but continuousWave does not attempt to collect and organize information that appears on other on-line resources. We leave that to search engines like GOOGLE. And in many cases those older websites are now longer on-line. Also, until about 2008 Boston Whaler customer service was supporting their old models and would send information via email, including drawings upon request. However, their policy changed, and now they tend to refer inquiries about older models to this website.
Technical information from Boston Whaler in the 1980's was often somewhat generic. For example, the owner's manual covered many boat models. I have reproduced two owner's manuals in HTML that replicate the printed versions. Again, see the REFERENCE section at
https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/
In the index listing resource, locate the heading "Owner's Manuals." Then select the link to the owner's manual that best fits your particular c.1989 model, which would be the the manual for 18 to 25-foot models:
