While the rest of you out there debate the classic verses new whalers question I found the sending unit for my outrage on Harry Hines in Dallas Tx. for anyone out there with a froze up gauge who cares.

What size/year Outrage? My brother has a 1982 22' and is trying to find out where the sending unit is located. Any thoughts? Mav |

The gauge on my 20' and my friends 18' Outrage is on the deck maybe 1 meter behind the center console. It is a lever with a cork on one end and geared teeth on the other that turn a shaft in a tube up to a magnet. My gauge leaked and so rusted in a fixed position. Since a magnet turns the dial on the gauge face all I needed was a new face. The gauge was made by Rodchester gauges of Dallas and the part #5-62 was on my gauge. They gave me a new face and didn't charge me anything. |

Where did you find the replacement? (phone number?)I just found out that mine too is stuck in the full position, and am hoping that it's only the face that needs replacement. Thanks, Brian |

This is valuable information. Would one of you mind posting the complete information in the O.E.M. Section on where to get a replacement gauge, or parts. Thanks |
