mickey	posted 06-05-2001 05:37 PM ET (US)         can anyone tell me if theres any way to tell the model by the serial no.? I have a whaler bought that im going to pick up tomorrow. I just spoke to the guy on the phone and now hes telling me that he isnt sure that its a montauk. From his discription Im almost sure that it is but Id like to know for certain before I drive 400 miles one way to see the boat. Help

If he's honest, and not just playing dumb with you, he will be able to tell you exactly what he has. Or you could call the factory, and from the number they will tell you what it is. I would do that before I buy any questionable Whaler.
