Did Whaler ever make a sail boat? If so does anybody have a picture?

Also, has anybody ever seen a 13' with a sailing rig? Just curious. Kelly

Yes, the 9' Squall was rigged for sail. I'm not sure if there are any photos in the Cetacea, but if not there should be...

In the late 70's, early 80's Whaler also made a Harpoon in at least two sizes, 5.3 meters and 6.2 meters.

There is a good Harpoon web site. Found it by accident. Has lots of pictures and info. Should be a simple search.

Kelly -

Peter's correct. And the smaller version came (if I remember right...) as an open version or with a little covered bow.

Whaler also produced a catamaran series, 15, 17, 19 and 20 foot, based on the Supercat. They aquired Supercat around 1982. Whaler dealers had a hard enough time trying to sell a powerboat, and a sailboat (and a catarmaran at that...) was way out of their league.

I toured the plant in Riveria Beach, FL. some years ago. Was impressed (as a Hobie 18 racer) with the design and quality.

The 20 was the first boat produced. It was the first production cat to hit 30 knots.

We bought one about three years ago, and are slowly refurfbishing her. I've clocked 22-24kts and that's moving.

Best - Don

There is a Harpoon on Ebay now if you are looking for a good photo of one. Rex
