An Augusta GA. dealer has quoted me $5385. delivered for a new 90 HP Tohatsu for my Montauk. Is that a good price?I am assuming that delivered included setup. Otherwise what is a good setup cost? Ken

I talked with Dublin Marine in Dublin, GA,that is not too far from Augusta. I don't have my notes on price, but you might want to give him a call. Seemed like a nice guy. His number is 912-272-9470. It is my understanding that Tohatsu requires that a dealer install motors of that size now. Good luck, Kelly |

kamml,Your profile says your are in South Carolina. The dealer is in Georgia. I take it "deliverd" on it's face value. He wiill have a shipping company bring it to your door step, get a signature, and the deal is done. I can't see the dealer having someonge accompany the motor to your place and installing it in your boat and then returning to GA for that price. You need to contact the dealer and confirm with him what the price includes, asking specifically about intallation on your boat. Tsuriki |

That sounds like a good price. On their web site Tohatsu gives a MSRP of $6207.00 for the 90 HP 2 stroke and $8299.00 for the direct injection model including prop and control box. I believe Kelly is correct that a Tohotsu dealer must install the engine to validate the warranty. Dick |

kamml..MSRP or $6207 for the 2 stroke, $5385 (2 stroke?)"Delivered" quoted to you. "Must be installed by dealer to validate the warranty"...Think about it. Call the dealer you are buying it from and confirm what the price includes.... Tsuriki |

I got my Tohatsu 70 from Houma Marine in Louisiana for 3800. delivery was $250. install by my local tohatsu shop was another $200. the engine came to my door in a huge crate, which I had to bring to the tohatsu guy to put on my boat. you could install yourself, but might void the warranty. Call Chris Collins at Houma Marine in Houma LA and get a price. they were the cheapest I found, and great service. David |

kamml- TAL Marine in Atlanta uses factory rigged Mercury's on the Whalers they sell. The Outboard Shop in Charleston, South Carolina sells mostly Yamahas, but also had some of last years Evinrudes (for Montauks). I have never used them, but their logo is "The Shop That Service Built". They have been in business for many years. Hope that helps. |

I can get a Yamaha for less than or around that price. Local guy has a 115 Tohatsu for $5125. |

Big Z has a good point, check Custom Marine in Statesboro, GA, ask for Brad, they were real close to the Tohatsu price on a Yamaha. Kelly |
