Hey all! I am putting an addition on my barn to store my current whaler(72 Nauset). The question is How large of a door do I need to put in to allow the 23'-25' Walkarounds in? I would like to allow room for a radar arch so width by height would be appreciated. This would allow for future Whalers. Thanks, Bruce

Bruce - How've you been? Long time no hear from!To get mine in a garage, you would need a door 10' wide and 12' high. On the trailer, with bracketed engines, overall length is about 32'. |

Hey Larry....you must live on this site. The dimensions you gave work perfect for me...just what I had thought...great answer. Now all I need is a boat like yours. Didn't get a whole lot of boating in this year except some skiing with the boys at the local lake (Caesar's Creek Lake, Ohio). We did get one 4 day weekend down at Watts Bar Lake, TN. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend...the ones you usually have to spend working on the yard...we burned alot of gas and had a great time. That might be a place for a reunion some day. We could go through the locks and up the river? Thanks for the reply. Regards, Bruce |

Larry, Would you think that Backlash would be taller than your boat? Tried to tell from the group picture but can't really judge. I hope the 12' will cover it. Thanks, Bruce |

Hey Bruce! How's tricks? Long time, no see...Some of the Great Lakes Boston Whaler Cruising Club will be getting together over Labor Day week end, and both Larry and Steve will be there - we can measure them side by side if need be, and let you know exactly wassup. I had an arch installed on my 22 over the winter, and I need 10 feet and some change, which translates into a 12' hi door, as Larry indicated for his. kingfish |

How about a portable garage? www.coverit.com I'm looking for one also, need a tad over 10' high door to accommodate my T-top. Maybe we can special order 2 together. |

acseatsri-I bought a coverit shelter for my Outrage 22 - 12x12x30, gable-roof style - it accomodates my boat on the trailer with the arch, just takes some care entering and exiting so the front cover doesn't snag on the rod-holders (on the arch). I have a fairly long tongue on my trailer, but it will all fit with the motor down. I usually have about 2' of tongue sticking out of the front so there's room for tools and workspace at the rear, though. If I were to do it again, and weren't restricted by driveway space, I'd probably go to 32'. I love the shelter, and it only cost about 15 bills. |

Hey John, I've been good! I have to looking at the picture of your place because I can't seem to get out enough. My wallpaper is now a picture of my nauset that Steve took when we were running back from Whitefish Falls....I think? Anyway, I have been using a dining fly setup that a guy sells at a local flea market....2- 10'x20' units cost a $400 not bad but certainly no barn. I still want to restore/rebuild the console and my 60'x40' shop is full of shop tools with no room for a full time project. Hence, I decided to go for another addition. So if you, steve and larry get together I would love the comparison. Hope 12' will do. Hopefully we can get back out to one of the rendevous next year. Good to hear from you all. Thanks for the help. kingfish, thanks for the info. I'm looking at the same size now, but I wish it were available in a 24' length for my 18'. I need 10' and change for my T-top as well. |

Are you sure it's not available in 24'? I really thought I recalled they were available in almost any length in 2' increments. If you are relying on sizes you see on their website, call and talk to someone at Coverit by phone. I do think I remember getting the impression that there were only x-number of sizes to choose from, but when you talk to them directly, I think you'll find you are only limited by the 2' incremental sizes. |

Bruce-If you'll e-mail me your address, I'll send you a CD I've burned with a bunch of high-resolution digital photos of the NC2000 Rendezvous. I've made copies for everyone who attended, and finally, a year later, they're ready to go out. (blush) John |

The natives must be restless in Battle Creek tonight! Since you're here tonight, KF, see the 22 in the Repair/Mod section! |

Hi Bruce,Long time no hear or see! Good to hear from you! How's the family? The 12' height should be fine. On the trailer my 21 is exactly 10'6" high and the width is probably 9½'(8½' beam + trailer fenders + guide ons). Take care, Steve |

Steve, Great to hear from you. I tried to email you about those pictures you had but it kept coming back. Never got around to posting on here to ask for your proper address. So thanks for the info. We hope that a cabin boat like yours is in the near future....this year will be the barn...so maybe next year. Still working on a 66 13' and then more on the nauset...always more. Hope to run into you and Carolyn in the not to distant future. Regards, Bruce |
