mcahill2	posted 08-26-2001 03:47 PM ET (US)         I have a 17ft montauk at my fish camp in Fla. on the Mosquito lagoon. ? what size davits do i need to safely lift the boat and set it on the sea wall. I may sell this boat for no other reason that i can't get in to the back county.But for now she's paid for so until something better comes along this will do. mark
Clark Roberts	posted 08-26-2001 06:06 PM ET (US)             Mcahill, your montauk most likely weighs in at about 1500# with motor, batteries, fuel, misc.... a pair of 1000# capacity davits should do the trick.. I wouldn't attempt to lift with less...??? happy fishing around El Dora etc.... my stomping grounds too! Clark... Spruce Creek Navy
