It appears that the 15' was discontinued in 1994 and resurrected in 1997 and 1998. What is the difference between the last versions, and the much more common earlier versions? I was considering a 97' advertised as a "Sport" but in all of the evaluation guides (and our excellent reference section), the Sport production ends in 94' and they reference a Standard in 1997 and 1998. Are the latter boats just stripped down versions? Or, are they an attempt to market the commercial line of hulls? I seem to remember some discussion about this issue, but can't locate it. I am trying to establish value for this unit. If I proceed, I will update the Forum with a summary of my experience.

Thanks,

sub

Your information is basically correct, although I don't know the actually years. These boats were labeled a "Standard", and had a different Desert Tan color, usually with red side stiping. They could be bought as either a bare hull, or with the CPD fiberglass side console, and starboard thwart seats and hold down rails. These tended to warp badly, but the little side console was fine. You could get the "Standard" in either a classic 13, 15 or 17 hull. Somewhere buried in my BW files, I have the list pricing.

I have all the Whaler catalogs from 1998-2001, there is no listing for a 15' in them. I have never seen a 15 other than the photo's of the sport model. Regards, Jay
