What do most here have for kickers on their 18' Outrages? I'm considering a 7.5 or a 10 HP 4 cycle. Is it sufficient for emergency power to limp home with?

It should be. I have a 15hp Bigfoot 4s on my 25, it pushes the boat to 5.5 knots. I will say that I kind of wish I had gone 2s for the kicker. The boats static trim is a little off with 145lbs on the port side of the transom.

On my 18' OR, I had at different times a 15 Johnson (2 stroke), 9.9 Johnson (2 stroke), 8 Yamaha (2 stroke) and 8 Evinrude (Suzuki) (4 stroke). All were 20" shaft length bolted direcly to the transom and were perfectly adequate. I suspect even a 6 horse would work fine too.
