Greetings,

Boy I wish this forum had a "search" function.
Anyway, I'm about to mount the transducer and seperate paddlewheel speedo to my '89 Montauk. I'm sure you guys have some advice as to exactly where to mount them. I was to mount the depth transducer about 5" to starboard from the keel and the Paddlewheel thing maybe a few inches to the right of that.
Anyone have any secrets here? BTW, the unit is a Garmin 240.

Thanks guys,

John from Madison CT

The BW Center Console Owner's Manual that came with my Montauk states, "Transducers should be mounted on the port side, or on center to provide lift or have a neutral effect on the trim."
I mounted mine a few inches to the left of the center line and it performs normally.

I put all new Raytheon electronics on my 1989 Montouk about 18 months ago. The location of the transducer was a problem. We mounted it according to the manufacturers reccommendation, 18 inches from centerline. In this location it lost bottom between 18 and 20 mph. I posted my problem on this forum and recieved the great advise to mount the transducer 8 inches from centerline. Which we did, works like a charm now.
