Dauntless or Outrage? Live on the Great Lakes, but also to be used inland. Will stay on trailer....skiing, scuba, fishing, etc. Like the looks of 180 Dauntless. Wanting 4 stroke. Any help appreciated.

If your on lake Erie, I would want the Outrage because of the danger of very sudden storms and high seas. The Outrage has a deeper V and is heavier. The down side is, it needs more power and drinks more gas. Also, it is more expesive. Regards, Jay

Thanks....Lake Michigan. Didn't want something as large as the 210 Outrage. Maybe a used smaller Outrage? Not much out there as far as 4 strokes in the 125-150 hp range to fit the 180 Dauntless.

18 Dauntless I think would be fine for what you're doing. It's a great alaround boat and usable inland and offshore. A Merc 135 optimax is a great engine for that boat.
