I know that BW used have outrigger bases that attached to the console and they are next to impossible to find.

What other arrangements have others come up with to mount outriggers on a Montauk? I am trying to come up with a smart way to do it and not being the smartest guy around I figure someone else must have come up with the perfect solution.

Thanks

Sam

I have designed these, for my previously owned Nauset. I designed flat topped "outrigger boxes", made of varnished solid and marine plywood, that held the Lee flush mount 15' outriggers. Worked beautifully & looked "factory original". Maybe for a Montauk, you would want to make them of teak or black starboard.

These mounted just inside of the boat gunwale, just forward of the side rails,
and conformed to to the sloping interior on the gunwales, but vertical on the inside surface, making a wide enough flat top to flush mount the Lee base. They rested down on the stepped lip of the hull, and were through bolted, using whalers bow rail plate, though the hull gunwales at the top, making the necessary very solid mounting. If you carefully look at the picture of this boat, in the 16/17 reference section, you will see the extra rail side plate where these are installed. The top of them were about 1/4" below the top of the gunwale.
