stevekaz	posted 03-06-2002 03:50 PM ET (US)         Anyone had to repair the keel on a 17 whaler? Is it better to use fiberglass or marine tex? Which keel guard works best?
Bigshot	posted 03-06-2002 03:55 PM ET (US)             Marinetex is good for spot filling a hole but if keel is worn from beaching it etc. Do some glass work and get any keelguard.

Bigshot	posted 03-06-2002 04:13 PM ET (US)             That stinkin piece of rubber has some seriously sticky 3m glue on it. I agree and being I only beach on sand, I just lose paint. for those who do get damage...i hear they are priceless. Try Overton's and Bart's etc.
