Actualy after 35+ years in it I wouldn't know what else to do. It's just that after taking the winter off (no boating) and spring approaching it's time to go back to work. Sure would be nice to have a job through the winter and have the summers off.
Guess we all wish for things that just aren't out there.
It's kind of frustrating though to know your boat is parked safely in the driveway and you are helping a customer get on the water, where you should be.
At least, hopefully, I am helping someone have fun.
Gotta put food on the table as well.

Dick,

It could be worse. You could be like most of us and have a full time job all year long. We barely ever get a chance to use the boat because it seems like we are always working!

Dick,

You're appreciated in Clallam Bay, y'know.

Russ

Good to hear from you. Hope to drag the Montauk over there for a little fishing this year. See you then.

Take up Duck Hunting. It is the perfect winter pass-time.

Easy there Salmon Tub. Don't be giving up the secret now, or there will be even more whackos out there at 4 am in the dark on cold wet windy muddy mornings screaming at their dogs and playing with guns, waiting for some fishy tasting bird fly out of the fog.

Yep I'm a teacher. Last time administration got upset when they couldn't reach me in July I told about the way it is.... "You can reach me- I monitor channel 16." Enjoy David

Dick,

We know how you feel. We used to fish and boat all summer and then we bought a Marina. Didn't "boat" and fished for snappers off the gas dock for 11 years. Since we sold the marina we now boat and fish a lot! That said we do miss the marina. My advice, hire good help and make it a point to take some days off. Come in late or leaving early occasionally. FWIW

Just had to vent a little now that the temps are getting up into the 50s, have been watching the MT sitting in the driveway for to long.
Wouldn't get out of this business if I could.

Ah, yes, the beautiful sound of little children running excitedly out the door the last week in June, not having to return until after Labor Day, it's a tough life but some one has got to do it, and who better than me! The pay might be bad but the perks make it worth while!

and, let us not forget our favorite kind of a day...a Snow Day!

They like us to work all summer long too Dick...when Calif starts burning, days off are scarce. I just bought two 13' long beautiful Mahogany planks for the 13' interior. I can't bring myself to cut them..... Dave I'll take pictures when I start
