Greetings, i have a 1967 13' BW w/ a1998 3cyl 40hp. mariner. It appears to be the same as the picture of the 1970 sport, in the reference section. There are no HIN # to be found anywhere, the original colors were white hull w/ light blue interior. I have some questions which i'll post in the proformance section. --------- jay

Fishhawk...

Welcome...I also have a 1967 13'Whaler...my numbers were on the transom just below the motor. Once I found my number, I wrote Chuck Bennett and he informed me of where, when (to the Day) and what model it was when it came off the line. My wife grandfather bought it, day, date and place...had the family in tears. My father-in-law remember the day his day brought it home...I have restored mine to almost identical what it was then...down to the original motor. I have acquired good information from this site. good luck

My 13'Whaler is about that vintage and had its hull number stencilled onto the hull liner aft of the front seat/storage compartment. If the liner was painted you might try gentle sanding there and see if it brings up the old number.

I imagine that 13 moves along nicely with 40 HP. That was the max Whaler recommended at the time. I have a 25 HP Johnson and with one person on board the thing just about stands on the prop.

Just to clarify, my hull number is near the bottom of the storage compartment bulkhead on the outside of the storage compartment, centered. (Somehow I'm finding this difficult to explain but when you look at the boat I think you will understand).
