I have a "62" 13 foot that was handed down to me from my dad in the early "70's". It.s used hard as a wade fishing boat on the Gulf Coast and I've redone everything about every 10 years. The design is just what I need. A little small, but great.

Then I found this site and came across a Whaler Outrage, I didn't know was made, that looks like it might be even better in larger bay systems. I hope someone can give me some info on this boat.

It looks like it was designed as a commercial fishing boat. It was made between 1976 and 1978 and Boston Whaler called it a "Topless" Outrage.

The 6th & 7th picture down.
How many of these boats were made, is there a spec page somewhere (the specs that I found here just give the length and width, and can you still find these models. Or can you take the banana railing of the standard early model Outrage 19 off to allow easier access into the boat? (Not really what I'd want to do.)

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

RR -

I've never seen one in the flesh, and this part of my state used to be home for one of Whalers larger dealers. I'd bet that less then 100 of them were produced, but it's just a guess.

There was at least one of the 21' outrages made without the upper skin. It was a factory boat that had a custom tuna tower, that was used as a photography platform. One would probably have to use deck boots to run it!

I think that Tom Clark here on the forum is creating one, by removing the upper skin.

Tom, you around?

Don
