A note to Chevy/GMC Suburban, Pickups, Tahoe and Blazer owners '99 to current: the dealer HAS to replace your factory battery if it goes bad within 5 years. They (dealers) were notified of this extremely large batch of batteries manufactured by Delco that were defective. A lot of the dealers did nothing. Basically waiting to see which ones went bad, then replace just those. Don't let the dealer off the hook. He gets reimbursed by GM. Some dealers were caught charging the customers for new batteries then sending in the numbers on the bad batteries and getting paid by GM. What a racket.

As far as I know the 2001 model year is included. In addition, you may very well need for the battery to go kaput for it to be replaced. That I'm not sure of that. In my experience (and several friends), we had bad batteries replaced. My last one was done in the fall of 2001, and so far it's fine. Apparently the defect was in the plate attachments inside of the battery. The connection eroded very quickly. |

My 2000 Silverado had a bad battery, they told me it was ok. After third time, along with some words not suitable for this forum, they replaced it. Regards, Jay |

My 2000 Yukon has had it changed. No charge but it sure cost me alot of hassle when I found it dead in a parking lot. |
