The 150 Sport is now on the Boston Whaler website with full pictures and descriptions. I still contend it is a great looking boat, but with some modifications like a Bow Light/Chock, Barbour Rubrail(like the 70`s and 80`s) Norman Pin, different interior, and a different trailer (look at how small and cheesy cheap that thing looks-Ugh!!!)--Jack.

I also notice that for 2003 only the new Montauk 170 is listed on the BW website not the original Montauk.Does that mean the original Montauk will be discontinued? |

Unfortunately Yes. Jack. |

Perhaps the better answer is: Yes, the Montauk is being discontinued, but you can order the same hull (Alert) through the Commercial Products Division. Then, you can finish it as you wish. Jack is just angry that Brunswick has chosen to run the business they OWN as they see fit, rather than the way he wants it run. |

Wow, is that right, Jack? Or did you simply mean that yes, the original Montauk is being discontinued and that you think it's unfortunate?Rich |

[That Whaler has added 150-Sport model to their website is noteworthy but I don't think it warranted double exclamation points, so I removed them from the TOPIC line--jimh.] |

I thought that the fact that Whalernut reported the 150 warranted at least one exclamation point :) |

Yes, I just meant that the Classic Montauk is discontinued and it is very unfortunate, I am glad tbyrne is speaking for me, I wouldn`t have realized I wanted to be the CEO at Brunswick, thanks "T". Jack. P.S. 1 explanation point would have been nice, and I am actually giving some praise for the 150 Sport, and things I don`t like about it that`s all. |

Jack, your continued enthusiasm for this new Whaler model really has me worried. It just isn't like the Jack we've come to know and love. Are you sure you're feeling okay? |

Agree, Jim. The Minister of Propaganda may need to be replaced. His ideology is weakening. |

After seeing some pics of the 17' sport in the newest cetecea page I think a standard alert console will look more appropriate to the otherwise understated 150 sport. All else aside that console just doesn't look right. Even a chopped down new montauk 170 console would work better in my mind. Does anyone have the dimensions on the footprint of the console for the 150 sport? We could easily determine if such a feat is possible, just as an exercise. That trailer does look cheapy. I cannot believe they would not delete the trailer. I guess they are not after the yacht tender market anymore! |

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the price with the 60hp outboard and the "comfort package" would be? Just curious... |

Posted this in another thread, but on Cape Cod at Nauset Marine, they had a 150 in the showroom. 60 hp, comfort package, and trailer, $16,200 and change. That OF COURSE included prep and freight. They have sold out nearly all their allocated 20 boats, as well as the 24 170's they were allocated. (last statement from a Nauset salesman). The boat looks nice, but I'm not going to sell my 18 Outrage for one! |

I call it like I see it, and although I like the 150 Sport hull and full bow rail, I would want a different trailer, bow light, norman pin, and interior(delete), and choice of engine brands or engine delete so it isn`t all roses. I don`t think B/W would do this, so I probably could never get one, but I would still like to see one up close. Jack. |
