I finally got the paperwork processed on the 13' Whaler that I was previously trying to find title. Now I can own it. Interestingly, we thought it was a 1969 model, but the title indicates Hull No. B2084 and a model year of 1962. According to the serial listing in the reference section, the 2084 hull is pre-1962. I wonder if the "B" denotes anything in particular. I will be putting a 4 stroke Yamaha 15 hp on this and getting out in it soon. I will report back on performance with this motor.

Since, the original hull id was gelcoated over, and no one took note of the HID no., I am left to go with the number on the title. From the reference, section I noticed that the "B" was not used to prefix a hull number of a 1960 vintage hull. My guess is that the hull number is 2084, and whoever titled/registered the boat put the "B" in front of the hull id no. perhaps to designate Boston Whaler. I don't know, but I would like to contact Whaler and find out if they have a record of that hull i.d. no, and the dealer/purchaser that ultimately registered the boat. As always, input appreciated. |

vdbgroup,So is your question: Is this really what my hull number is? To answer that question just email Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler with this number and ask him if they have a record of this hull. Tell him everything you have reported here. You will most likely get a prompt, succinct and accurate answer from him. |
