A few months ago I bought my first boat, a 1978 V-20. It takes forever to fuel because if I try to pump any more than a trickle it overflows even when it is only partially full. Any suggestions?

Tank vent screen may be blocked by corrosion or debris (bugs, dirt, etc) or vent hose may have kink. The vent outlet is located on the outward side of the hull and will probably look like a small S/S or chrome raised disk. On the side of the vent you will see a screen pointed down toward the water. put your mouth on it and blow into it (I know it's gross but that's the easiest way) and determine if there's any restriction.

Dave, thanks I'll give it a shot. Where will I find the vent hose?

The vent fitting is connected to a vent hose which is connected to the top of your tank. It allows the displacement of the trapped air in your tank as you fill up through the deck fitting.
