Welcome, Montauk72Glad to see you on the Forum. One thing I suggest you do is go explore the Reference and Cetacea sections. Maybe you and Bugsy can find out what you really have. I suspect you have customized 16s of some type. Whaler didn't introduce the Montauk until mid '73. Tell us about how it is equipped and rigged; maybe we can help. Again, welcome. Hello. If you need any parts for your 110 I have bunches of good used stuff and lots and lots of free advice. Born on the coast and there is always a boat in my life. I am currently restoring a 1972 17ft BW this week and having a wonderful time. Lost in the blues, Steve. |

Woops your right guys. I did own a 77 Montauk and thought the 72 might be one too. Its a 72 and I think its 16' 7" if i remember correctly. The boats center console is not original and under the seat is a 28 Gallon Tempo Gas tank. I suspect that was modified to accomadate the tank. I will be looking to go with a fiberglass console and was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs and where did they find one....Thanks.... |

Montauk72,What does your seat look like? Is it made of wood? Reversible or Church Pew? Do you have the hull identification number (HIN)? That will tell you what model year the boat really is. If it's a 1972 then the HIN should be molded into the transom. If you have the Serial Number (Stenciled Number) you may be able to find out what model of Whaler it left the factory as, and to what dealer it was sent and when. |

Montuak72, for after market consoles try Maritime Skiff, Carolina Skiff, Valco and Todd Enterprises. I like the 24" from Maritime. Steve |
