posted 02-03-2003 01:20 PM ET (US)         Attended the Hartford boatshow this weekend, was disappointed to see that the new outrages have virtually lost their identity. Overall quality, fit and finish still appear to be there, but comparing some of the hardware to my 88 OR, you could see where they "trimmed down". Had some discussion on the horsepower rating on the new, heavier Montauk, dealer comment was that they will probably not increase the HP rating, testing with higher than the 90 HP engine caused the boat to handle "squirrely". The Montauk wasn't my subject of interest in their lineup, but what caught my attention was the 2 six gallon tanks under the seat, that was a great set up on a 16" tin boat with 20 HP I had, but a Montauk with a 90, I don't think so.
